Le Va | Flo Talanoa
Le Va, leading educators in Pasifika health and well being, will be running their suicide prevention workshop, Flo Talanoa. This informative and interactive workshop is aimed at equipping participants with practical and relevant tools relating to suicide prevention.
The workshop is normally 4 hours in length, designed for people 16+ and those either of Pasifika descent or those who work closely with Pasifika communities. The workshop will be run by Jimmy Clarke, Leilani Clarke and Mark Tuifao. For more information on LeVa and their work click the link below |
Reflection Talanoa | Our Response
Following the Flo Talanoa, we will move into the Reflection Talanoa. This session is aimed at contextualizing the learnings of the first workshop in a way that can be understood and translated into a Christian, Methodist context.
In this session participants will be asked to respond to 6 critical questions - in a group setting and also individually. The written individual responses will be collated (along with the responses from the June INFLUENCE North training) and used to form a statement on behalf of the youth leaders of our Church around youth suicide and a call to action for our church leadership.
