Prayer
Open by catching up with each other: How are you at this moment?
Worship
Read Rom 8 v 26-27
Have someone read this passage 3 times – slowly and carefully. Afterwards leave a time of silence for everyone to search their own heart for the groaning of the Spirit.
Ice Breaker: What experiences of prayer have you had that have been especially meaningful or quite difficult?
Studying God’s word:
1. Read Matthew 6:5-15. What is prayer? Where and how should we pray?
2. Read Matthew 7:7-12. In what way does this sum up the law and the Prophets?
What is Jesus saying about the way we should live?
3. What does it mean to pray in the Spirit? Ephesians 6:18.
4. What do these three passages teach us about the way in which we should live and the way in which we sustain our
relationship with God so that we can do the work of love that He has called us to?
Action:
In the week ahead pray that God will help you know and serve His will. Perhaps this week you could meet with one other person / couple from the group to pray for 5-10 minutes together. In this prayer time you could pray for each other and also pray for God’s will to be done in our church.
